WebTrustSM

Our firm is licensed to issue the CPA WebTrust seal. Only CPAs who have completed training and have been licensed by the AICPA in accordance with performance standards are qualified to issue the CPA WebTrust seal. Training, certification, and licensing ensure consistent application of the CPA WebTrust principles and related criteria.

Eighty five percent (85%) of Web users fear using their credit cards online. Ninety one percent (91%) fear giving out any financial information whatsoever. And the number one reason cited for not purchasing products online is a lack of security. It's all pretty scary news if you're trying to sell your product on the Web. But there is something that can put you and potential customers at ease; the CPA WebTrustSM.

Placed on the home page of your Web site, the seal tells potential customers that a CPA has thoroughly evaluated your company's Web site to assure it uses sound business practices and controls when engaging in electronic commerce. And we have numbers that prove it can be effective. Seventy eight percent (78%) of online users surveyed have a favorable impression of the CPA WebTrust seal. And millions more will be educated about the importance of the seal through the efforts of a national advertising campaign by the AICPA.

In short, the CPA WebTrust seal tells your customers that you follow the rules of good business. Which, in turn, makes for good business. To find out how you can reduce consumer fears and increase your sales, give us a call or email us at web@rothspellman.com.

How To Get The Seal That Gets You Sales

You can receive the CPA WebTrust seal by having us examine your company's Web site to evaluate whether it meets the prescribed practices and control criteria. Once this is successfully completed, a report indicating your site's compliance is issued and you are awarded the CPA WebTrust seal. We will revisit the site every quarter to ensure continuous compliance. And we'll even include your site in a directory of all sites bearing the seal.

The CPA WebTrust seal indicates that the following three areas of your business have been examined:

  • Business Practices Disclosures: Customers are assured that you will adhere to the business practices you disclose for online transactions.
  • Transaction Integrity: Customers will know that their orders placed online will be completed and billed as agreed.
  • Information Protection: Customers will feel safe giving out financial information knowing that you maintain effective controls to ensure it is protected from uses not related to your business.
